A vacancy has arisen at the Hurworth Hunt due to the retirement of our longstanding stud groom Tony.
The ideal candidate for this full-time position will be capable of the care of our 3 hunt horses in kennels & be part of the kennels team which includes a full time professional huntsman.
Your primary responsibility will be the care of the horses but alongside that you will assist our huntsman in kennels. It is expected that will be a 2-way street as they will also be able to assist with horse exercise.
This role has potential to develop into that of a 2nd whip for the right person.
You will need to be able to care for & get horses fit for hunting, & turn them out to a high standard including clipping & plaiting. Ideally you will have a class 2 HGV licence.
There is an attractive package available to the successful candidate which includes a competitive salary & a 2 bedroom flat on site at the kennels.
We have sufficient stables at kennels that if the successful candidate wanted to bring their own horse with them that could be accommodated.
