Liberty & Livelihood March, 20th anniversary

Today is the 20th anniversary of the Liberty & Livelihood March, which took place on 22 September 2002.

Over 407,000 marched through London, and more than 106,000 further people who were unable to march, pledged to march in spirit on the day.

At the time, this was the biggest public demonstration that Britain had ever seen. The Government of the time may have completely ignored our protest, but we were not finished then, nor are we finished now.

Our love of the countryside, its landscapes, its wildlife and its people is steadfast, and we continue to fight to protect life in the countryside so that everyone who so chooses can live that life to the full.
